This workshop will explore the role of antipsychotic medications when used in the care of a person with dementia who has responsive behaviours.

The changes in behaviour that often occur with dementia are frequently “managed” with antipsychotic medications.
Whilst there are some circumstances in which these medications are effective, their use is associated with a risk of side effects, many of which can be profound.
